Question:  What is your most successful method for getting free traffic (non-paid) to your websites?

Among all the free traffic generation methods, the most successful one, regarding how quickly you can get results is: Social Bookmarking.

Just bookmarking your new website, new blog post, pinging it (in case of a wordpress blog) into the main social bookmarking websites (technorati, digg, stumbleupon, delicious) will generate some exposure and almost instant traffic.

Based on how you wrote your blog post for example, it could then further generate buzz and traffic (more people will bookmark it and so on).

To extend on social bookmarking, you can share your content on social network, or link to it from social networks too (twitter, facebook, myspace, squidoo, hub page, but also video sharing network such as youtube). That said, you would need to create a specific version of your content and / or a video version to publish on these network (to create a Squidoo lens, or a hub page).
